Power: the capacity or ability to direct or influence the course of events.
Many of us give our power away multiple times each day. When someone you don't know cuts you off in traffic and you lose your peace - you just gave away a little bit of your power. When your children don't get ready quickly enough and are then late for school and you start yelling - you just gave away a little bit of your power. When you and your partner have a disagreement and you give in to their demands which ignite the flame of resentment - you just gave away a little bit of your power. Over time, these little bits of power transfer leave you depleted and lost.
There are four truths that once you believe them, you will never again give away your power. If you allow these four truths to guide you as you move through life, you will no longer continue to give your power away to others. Once you start keeping your power, you will be less exhausted, less stressed, less unhappy, more productive and generally more fulfilled. Holding onto these four truths will help guide you toward a life of freedom and peace.
Truth 1: The only feelings you are responsible for are your own
Truth 2: You are worth it
Truth 3: You are growing
Truth 4: You always have options
Join me over the next four weeks as I discuss each of these truths in more detail in the series, "The Keys to Keeping Your Power."
With Gratitude,
