The Keys To Keeping Your Power: Key 2

ree

Worth: the level at which someone deserves to be valued.

There are several truths that you must accept in order to keep your power (and your cool). One of those truths is that you are worth it. The "it" in this truth will change depending on the situation at hand. Regardless of your "it", the substance of this truth is that you are worth what is required of you to move out of a place of emotional paralysis.

You are worth starting the hard conversation required to propel your relationship forward. You are worth asking those tough questions of yourself when you're trying to decide your next career path. You are worth starting that new class required for the promotion at your job. Whatever your "it", you are worth it.

There will be people in whose presence you feel small or times in which you feel like what you want does not matter. But when you hold to the truth that you are worth it, you will be reminded that you are not smaller than anyone else and that what you want matters very much. When you shy away from difficult moments, and people, that you know are important to and for you, you give away your power. But when you can stand firm in the truth that you are worth it, and hold your ground, you retain your power.

So, the next time something is difficult and you have the urge to shy away, remember that you are worth it.

With Gratitude,

ree
